Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

To promote efficient electric energy usage, we're offering cash on the following appliances to encourage the installation of the most effective heating systems available.

Energy Efficiency Credits are offered with the stipulation that no other credits, rebates or special rate/discounts apply.

Credits must be requested within 180 days of installation.

For all heating installations –

Minimum insulation R-values (ceiling plus walls in area being heated by new installation) must equal 30 for an existing home and 49 for a new home.

Consumer account number and social security number or taxpayer ID number must be included if payment is made to a business OR equipment is not installed in a dwelling. R-value verified by your rural electric representative through visual inspection.

Electric Motors

Make the switch to electric motors and improve your business operation while you make your life a whole lot easier. Electric motors provide a more efficient, cleaner, quieter alternative for many commercial, industrial and pumping applications. They're easy to operate – just flip a switch. And, they offer significantly lower maintenance costs. Stable electric rates enable the consumer to better manage and budget energy expenses, too.

Energy Efficiency Credits

NEMA* high efficiency new motor - $20 per horsepower

NEMA* standard efficiency new motor - $10 per horsepower

Wiring assistance - $1.50 per horsepower for new installation, or for fossil-fueled engine replacement

* National Electric Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) motor standards are equivalent to Energy Policy Act standards effective October 1997.

Standards:

• Motor size range must be 10 horsepower minimum operating at a minimum of 15 percent annual load factor or for at least three months each year.
• Motors less than 10 horsepower qualify if the aggregate for a single unit which requires all motors to operate at at least 10 horsepower.
• Payments must be requested within 180 days of installation; invoice or bill of sale must be less than six months old.

Motors taken from customer's stock qualify for:

• actual efficiency payment if new and invoice is less than six months old
• lowest efficiency payment if there is no invoice or if invoice is older than six months
